StatePride Initiative

An endeavor known as StatePride continues to assist Mississippi State University as it raises funds for two core areas – students and faculty. Gifts for StatePride are providing a steady stream of annual support for Mississippi State as it seeks to grow over time and combat lean years of state support.

The four-year initiative is allowing the university to award need-based scholarships for deserving students and academic scholarships to compete for the best and brightest students. It also includes support to recruit and retain esteemed faculty members and increase faculty research and development opportunities in all areas of study.

In all, $100 million is needed to fulfill StatePride goals, and generous gifts to date have pushed fundraising efforts past the halfway mark. The nearly $75 million raised includes matching funds provided through a special partnership with MSU Athletics over the course of the initiative.

Alumni and friends may support the university with StatePride gifts through December 2012.
