Civil and Environmental Engineering Complex

New Civil and Environmental Engineering Complex Alumni and friends may assist the Bagley College of Engineering as it works to complete a new facility for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The approximately 89,000-square-foot sustainable complex will be built from a combination of appropriations from the State of Mississippi and private gifts. The facility will provide multimedia and distance learning classrooms and teaching and research laboratories. It will also expand faculty and administrative spaces.

Make a gift now https://ssl2.msstate.edu/msufoundation/makeagift/ by entering the "CEE Complex" as the designation of your gift under "Other". For naming opportunities contact Bennett Evans, director of development for engineering, at bevans@foundation.msstate.edu or telephone 662.325.0386.

CVM Referral Center

CVM Referral CenterThe College of Veterinary Medicine is expanding its reach beyond the Starkville campus. The college will be a cooperative partner in the operation of a referral specialty practice near Jackson.

Plans are in the works to build a clinic in the suburb of Flowood that will be sufficient to house a specialty veterinary practice and also have living space for CVM veterinary students. The proposed site is adjacent to the new Jackson Veterinary Emergency Clinic which will enable students to also gain experience there.

By participating in the venture, the college can expand its rotation electives for veterinary medical students and faculty who seek continuing education opportunities. The partnership will allow students to practice referral management and emergency care for the high volume of patients at the facility. They also will gain experience by interacting with staff at the Mississippi Veterinary Research and Diagnostic Laboratory in nearby Pearl.

The college hopes to secure funding for this new venture through private donations. For more information, contact Keith Gaskin, CVM’s senior director of development, at 662.325.3815 or email kgaskin@foundation.msstate.edu

Lloyd-Ricks Renovation

Lloyd RicksA planned major renovation of the Lloyd-Ricks facility will enrich the learning experience for students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and provide space for future growth for the two academic units currently housed in the facility – the School of Human Sciences and the Department of Agricultural Economics. The renovation also will return many of the original architectural features to the building.

While much of the funding for the project is being supplied by the federal government and the state of Mississippi, a significant amount must be raised through private gifts. Naming opportunities are available for those making gifts of $10,000 to $100,000. Donors may name classrooms, conference rooms, offices and lounges in honor or in memory of family members, friends or mentors.

To explore ways to make a gift for the project, contact Jud Skelton, director of development for the college, at jskelton@foundation.msstate.edu or telephone 662.325.0643. All commitments are payable over a five-year period.
