MPRINT: Paws for a Cause campaign honors pets and those who care for them

For many of us, the bond we share with our pets grows into love beyond measure. The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and its Animal Emergency & Referral Center work to preserve those relationships through compassionate care for clients, and through quality education for students and future veterinarians. 

Our Paws for a Cause Campaign is a time to honor a cherished friend, a veterinary provider or a fellow animal lover through a gift to the college’s Companion Animals Require Excellence (CARE) Fund. To participate, participants are invited to write a personal message and return it with their gift.  

Each message becomes part of a meaningful display in the lobby of the Animal Health Center. Here are a few special messages from last year:  

“We are so grateful for the skills and compassion of the entire staff of the MSU Veterinary College. Our sweet Lexie was loved by all. Thank you!” 

“We would like to thank the MSU Veterinary Hospital for the great care our animals received while they were patients in your care!” 

“Thank you for helping my little dog, Lacee, keep her eyesight for so long before she passed. Although she is no longer with me, it meant so much to both of us that she could see again.” 

“A huge thank you to Ms. Caroline and Dr. Chu for taking such great care of Petey. Your compassion and patience are truly appreciated. Keeping me updated throughout the process made it much less stressful.” 

Each gift to the CARE Fund provides vital support to the MSU-CVM and Animal Health Center. There is no more positive, fitting or effective tribute to your beloved companion than an investment in our continuing outstanding care.
