MPRINT: Legacy in Motion highlights partnership on the move

The MSU Foundation was proud to host Ergon executives, company representatives and their cohort of co-op students for a campus visit and tour on April 20. The event, Legacy in Motion, was a gathering created to honor and bring to life the lasting impact of Ergon, Inc. and the Lampton family, who founded Ergon. The event welcomed members of the Lampton family, Ergon executive leadership, Mississippi State University leadership, faculty and staff, as well as students whose lives and experiences have been shaped by Ergon’s generosity. Designed as a moment of reflection and connection, Legacy in Motion offered a look at how a long‑term partnership translates into real opportunity across campus.
Central to the event were student voices. Through personal stories and firsthand experiences, students shared how Ergon and the Lampton family’s support has influenced their academic journeys, opened doors to hands‑on learning, and helped shape their futures. These stories were paired with time for direct engagement during a luncheon, a ribbon-cutting to showcase the new Ergon, Inc. On Campus Interview Space in Montgomery Hall and campus tours highlighting Ergon-funded spaces and programs.
The event reflected the depth of collaboration behind the partnership and created an opportunity for the Lampton family and Ergon leaders to see the impact of their giving. The result was an experience rooted in gratitude and shared pride in what has been built together.
“Legacy in Motion was about honoring a family and a company whose generosity continues to shape this campus in meaningful ways,” said Lilly Bjorkman, associate director of corporate and foundation relations.”
By focusing on student voices and connection, the Lampton family and Ergon leadership saw the possibilities behind their support. It was a powerful reminder that impact is not just measured, it’s experienced.
